CONVOCATION

Today is a very special day for everyone for it marks the end of our tertiary education at SIM and the beginning of a brighter future.

Dressed in our "batman" gown, we took many unthinkable and "un-glam" shots. We're such a crazy bunch of girls but it doesn't matter. Just look at how happy we were today. Now you will know why I love my little girlfriends so much and that they'll always occupy a special place in my heart.
.
In addition, Eleanor gave each of us a really pretty pen and a short love note to mark this new chapter of our lives. She is such a sweet heart. Eleanor, you have my word that I'll treasure and guard this pen with my soul and strength. ;)

It didn't take me long to think about that goal because it was something I strongly felt lacking in the industry today. I may only be a person, but I know this can be achieved starting with my first client.

I'm so glad that my exams are finally over, and I can breathe with much ease and comfort now. Despite having a higher passing requirement, I managed to clear every single paper on my first attempt. YES, I DID IT AGAIN! My past few weeks of intensive mugging have finally paid off and I look forward to collecting my new Fujitsu laptop this Thursday. I'm not sure which model will the company be giving but let's just hope that it'll be small, slim and sexy. Hee...

Right now, my focus is to make myself pretty for my upcoming convocation! Mummy just did a facial treatment for me and Daddy will be home tomorrow. So exciting, especially when I have this Friday and the weekends all to myself.

Lately, mugging till the wee hours of the morning haven't been easy and I'm usually found snoozing on my books just after going through a couple of pages. In addition to the stress and lack of sleep, I had stomach flu this morning and felt so green and sick during the first half of the day. Nevertheless, I'm still determine to clear this hurdle. Nothing shall stop me. But first, I need to clock in 12 hours of sleep tonight. Hee...

FIRST HURDLE
.
Trainings will be intensive for me during my first 6.5 weeks and I've been coping well so far. I have 6 external and internal exams to clear within this period with my first paper starting next Wednesday.
.
I've to mug really hard for Module 9 (Capital Markets & Financial Advisory Services) and cover all 26 chapters by this week. It is said to be the hardest module to pass with the average failure rate at 50%. In addition, I have to score at least 70% or get a minimum of 88/125 MCQs right. It's tough and stressful but I'll do my best.
.
For the past few nights, I've been studying till as late as 3am but I managed to only cover 8 chapters. Hence, I made a number of unacceptable mistakes when we practiced on some calculations this morning. But tonight, I decided to give myself a break and enjoy my supper later on. Hehe... Afterall, everyone seems so slack too. Anyway, it's unproductive to force myself when I'm already beginning to see stars.

Hmm... How will I ever finish 58 pages of homework by this Friday? Looks like I could only afford to listen to the fire works for tomorrow's National Day. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SINGAPORE!

YES, I DID IT!

There are so many things in life that makes me happy and to receive news that I will be graduating with a degree with distinction is no exception too. While some would say that it's the effort that counts, I believe I wouldn't have done it without the help and support from my family and friends. They stood by me when I was down, made me believe in myself when I thought all hope was lost and cheered me on in accomplishing my dreams. You know who you are... GONE SHOPPING

Went shopping this afternoon along Orchard Road and bought a Philips hair straightener, Garnier copper blonde dye and 2 pairs of Chomel earings. Two weeks ago, I invested in a couple of hair products and a handbag. I know 'Huiwen' and 'shopping' doesn't rhyme at all but now that I'm going to be a working adult in less than 2 days, I think it's important that I look and feel good inside out. Actually, becoming a young career woman is quite exciting and I hope that this new phase of life will be smooth and full of pleasant surprises.

Those 2 pairs of earings are really pretty and I can't wait to match them with my blouses and skirts. My mum helped me to dye my hair this afternoon and it looks good, something different from the usual red dye. And I also had a good body scrub and even applied moisturizing lotion from neck to toes. Right now, I'm thinking if I should paint my nails. Hee...
.
I know I've been miserable for the past few days as my vacation draws to a close. According to my dad, I sounded as if I was going to prison. Haha... But today is different. I'm getting myself ready for my first day of work! Wish me luck!! :D

MY BESTIE

Had a dinner date with Peck Chin at Ajisen last night. She still look very much the same, just that she lost her pony tail and had a new hairstyle and hair color. Looks quite refreshing actually, makes me feel like cutting my hair even though I don't have much to cut anyway.
.
We chatted, gossiped and played at the arcade. You've no idea what kind of games we actually played and it has been a long time since I saw Peck Chin this playful and young at heart. We spent almost $10 on those soft toys machines, basketball and alien shooting games. We were at the children's arcade! What can you expect from Novena? House of the Dead?! It was quite embarrassing especially when it was ME buying the TIMEZONE card and the guys at the counter just smiled and giggled. Damn, I hope they didn't try guessing our age.
.
Peck Chin was certainly one of my best companions during our studies at NYP. It was always laughter whenever I'm with her and all my worries would just disappear. Those lunches and lectures with her will definitely be missed. Haha!
