WHERE DO I STAND AS A DESIGNER?
.
With limited skills and experience
I stood no chance between the first and second place

.
Perhaps there was a lack of creativity and aesthetic appeal
Perhaps I thought too highly of myself
Perhaps there wasn't sufficient time for research and planning

.
The list goes on but what would this mean to me?
I have failed to deliver the best
I have failed to impress the panel of judges
And I have lost

.
Would this make all all of us losers then?
Not at all
In each of our eyes
We thought it was the best piece of work
We thought the panel of judegs would be impressed
And we thought we stood a chance in winning

.
Yes, all of us stood a chance in winning
So there is no need for regrets
And there is no need to look back
What matters most now is to pick up the pieces
And continue with where we have left off

.
Perhaps one day...

VOICELESS
.
Had no fever, sore throat or cough yet I woke up this morning without a voice. Perhaps it was due to the previous bad weather and lack of proper rest over the past few days.
.
Dad got home in the afternoon after his errands and also gave me an early birthday present. I was surprised to receive another necklace from Swarovski. This time it was designed in a shape of a flower with lots of crytals on it. Simple and yet so beautiful that I fell in love with it at first sight. *Muacks
.
Had no outing plans today and so we lazed at home. Helped dad to redeem his reward points and claim an iron, $20 Haagen Dazs voucher, $40 Tangs voucher and two pairs of movie tickets. Dad wanted us to enjoy ourselves while he is away, so thoughtful of him. :)
.
Knowing that I like to eat at home, dad and my brother went out in the rain to get dinner from the famous Whampoa Drive hawker centre. We had hokkien mee, prawn noodles, oyster omelette, chinese rojak and satay. Haha... One stomach to fill with so much to eat.
.
This is what I love most about life. It need not be elaborated or extravagant, just spending time and having fun together as a family is the greatest gift one could ever ask for. *CHEERS!

DADDY IS BACK!
.
Dad came home yesterday and will be leaving again on Tuesday. Nevertheless, he has promised to take us out for two days. YEAH!
.
We started with a simple lunch at a chinese restaurant in Joo Chiat Road - Stirred fried vegetables, steamed fish, fried chicken, egg omelette, steamed minced pork and watercress soup. After which, we bought some mini char siew buns, siew mai and tapioca cake from D'bun. It tasted so good when served hot from the steamer and of course, with much sampling. Haha... We're just like any other Singaporeans too.
.
After our fill, we followed dad to Orchard to visit some of the retail outlets. The light brown colored laced up shoe with flower petals is also available at Rotelli, Takashimaya, and it cost S$149. I like the shoe a lot. In fact, I love all the shoes which dad bought for me. Thanks daddy!
.
Then dad had to meet up with some people at Peninsula Plaza, so brother and I went window shopping at Raffles City, Marina Square and Suntec City. But I had the most fun at Marina Sqaure when brother and I played at the arcade. We played mostly shooting games like Jurassic Park and House of the Dead. I got to hold big big guns, so fun!
.
Later in the evening, we met up with dad and headed to Plaza Singapura. Did lots of shopping at Carrefour and spent around $150+. Though our trolley wasn't filled to the top but we certainly had lots of yummy goodies. Hehe...
.
Then it was dinner time and I was hungry. Dad had fried bee hoon while brother and I had Carl's Jr. I have never tasted such heavenly burger in my life. *Drools... However, good food doesn't come cheap and two set meals at Carl's Jr cost $22. Daddy is the GREATEST!
.
After burning a hole in dad's pocket, we hopped onto a cab and headed home. WE LOVE YOU DADDY! Next time you confirm get your monthly allowance, just ring our door bell or call us anytime. By the way, all the chocolates and kueh lapis you bought made me so happy. I don't mind being a glutton for a few days as long as I'm happy. :)
.
I wonder what will we be doing tomorrow. Hehe...

ARGH! YOU SON OF A *TOOT!!
.
I dropped a pencil holder while cleaning the table today. So I got down to my knees and started picking up a dozens over pens all over the floor.
.
Then I felt a piece of paper as I stretched my hand beneath the table to reach for the pens. I pulled out the piece of paper and without any warning, I SCREAMED! I know it is very unlike me to scream but to my horror, there was a medium sized decomposed lizard stucked to it! It was one of my mum's lizard trap, a very sticky piece of A5 sized paper.
.
The worst part was having my hand stucked to the paper and having that little son of a lizard STARE AT ME! What the *TOOT TOOT TOOT!!
.
Mum can even laugh and thought that I finally caught the big mama lizard by stepping on it. If I ever step on that little piece of shit, I promise I will scream so loud the glass will shatter. *TOOT TOOT TOOT!!
.
Anyway, after cleaning my house, I decided to settle down in front of the computer for some entertainment. Then mum called, "Huiwen, pass me that sticky paper beneath the table... There are two big lizards in the bathroom." I gave her the most irritable face and kept swearing as I handed her the piece of sticky paper with the same decomposed lizard body on it. I HAVE YET TO RECOVER FROM THIS AFTERNOON INCIDENT! WHY CAN'T SHE GO GET IT OR ASK MY BROTHER? *TOOT TOOT TOOT!!
.
My mother... You can never LOVE her enough.

THE EXAM SONG
.
You better not shout
You better not cry
Huiwen is here and I'm telling you why
Our exams are starting next week
.
Pick up your pen
Switch on your lights
Start flipping your books and 'burn' through the night
Our exams are starting next week

.
There are four papers in total
Each lasting two to three hours
We have no choice but to study
Or we'll screw our coming graduation

.
So, you better not shout
And you better not cry
Just memorize and 'spit' everything out
Cause we will soon be SHAKING OUR LEGS!
