MY ATTEMPT AT CHINESE WRITING = DISASTER!
.
Because I am one who values creativity and differentiation, I did something unimaginable. I wrote my brother's birthday greetings in mandarin. While some may praise me for my bravery, others, including myself, laughed uncontrollably.
.
Following are some of my mistakes:
Kuai Gao Zhang Da --> Kuai Kuai Zhang Da
Ping Ping An An --> Ren Ren Ping An
Xiao Jia --> No comments
.
I must have been out of my mind or otherwise, really 'xiao'. Anyway, I have revamped my message and decided to keep it simple. Sometimes it is not always good to be overly ambitious.
.
To avoid total embarrassment, I have decided not to publish the full message. I am also not sure if there will ever be a next time... Maybe after I have recovered from this unforgettable experience. So Wanyi, cross your fingers tightly... HAHAHA!

COW STRENGTH?
.
I remember the time my friends used to tease about me writing too hard. Even those seated from across the meeting table could feel the viberation. Well, it did not bother me at all, just made me wonder where those energy actually came from...
.
About a week ago, I broke my mop stick while mopping under the bed. The first thing that came to mind was, "Shit! Now I probably have to go on my knees cleaning the floor..." Thankfully, mum had a spare mop stick after I pathetically tried to fix it back with scotch tape. Then again, was it the high protein dinner I had that night? After all, high protein food is equivalent to muscle-building food...
.
Yesterday afternoon, I went jogging at the gym. Although I was impressed with my timing of 71 minutes even though I had not visited the gym for about a month, I had four new blisters on my foot. *Ouch... Did I run too hard this time or was it just a poor fit between my New Balance running shoes and flat feet?
.
Today was cleaning day. So I had my hands protected with a pair of tight fitted gloves. This time I was more gentle with the mop stick but my gloves was torn after squeezing the mop a few times... Two big holes - One at the thumb, the other on the palm. Showed mum and she said, "Nice job... You and your cow strength." Can you believe that? Mum thinks that her daughter had cow strength!
.
While Xena, the warrior princess, may be a compliment for some, I seriously hope that I am not seen as one but rather as someone who is just full of energy.

KIMCHI CUP NOODLES... *SLURPS
.
Today was a very exciting day for both of us. WANYI AND I HAD KIMCHI CUP NOODLES IN OUR LECTURE ROOM! This is so cool!
.
As we waited impatiently for our noodles to 'cook', we cleaned our table, laid our chopsticks and napkins neatly by the side and then... Wah-la! Three minutes was up! We could no longer contain our drool. For once before everyone else, we had nothing to say to each other during the initial ten seconds but slurp our piping hot kimchi noodles in the cold lecture room... Such heavenly feeling with so much satisfaction derived from a cup worth only $0.90. This is something that ignorant bystanders will never understand.
.
*SLURPS to the very last drop... YUMMY YUM YUM!

CLICK
.
Gone to the cinema at Lido this early evening and watched Click. It was hilarious, cool and touching... Reminded me the importance of family. Nearly teared but I'm good at holding it back especially in the presence of men. Haha...
.
It's really a GOOD movie. Definitely not one you want to miss. Anyway, I'll give it two thumbs up. If I have more thumbs, I'll give them all. *Smiles

MY NEW 'TOY'... AND I LOVE IT EVEN MORE
.
Recently, I received a mailer in my mailbox from SingPost. Instead of the usual junk mail I always find in my mailbox, this time it's SingPost's Friday Mailbox Surprise! Well, I wasn't sure what it was about but the content sounds too good to be true - FREE instant surprises for the first 200 to present the mailer at Plaza Singapura on 5th August, between 11am to 8pm. Moreover, the gifts are unbelievably wonderful with no minimum purchase - OTO Eye Rejuvenator (EM-180 worth $88), $50 SK Gift Voucher and $200 Expressions Voucher.
.
Like everyone else, my heart has its own preference too which is the OTO Eye Rejuvenator. There is a value that I believe in and that is, "If you're lucky, you're lucky." Therefore, I didn't see the need to wake up extremely early just to queue for something which is more of a luxury than a need. Nevertheless, getting something would still be a bonus. *Winks
.
So this morning I woke up at 9.30am, got dressed and left the house at 10.35am. Ran an errand for Dad before joining the crowd at Plaza Singapura. By the time I got there, it was about 11.15am and the queue was long and I began to wonder if I still stand a chance. When it was my turn, I was already number 171!
.
Together with 5 other people on stage, I chose a box not knowing its content. Will it be what my heart desires? No one knows except for the back stage people. Nervous and excited, I could feel my heart pumping hard. I wished the girl next to me, "Good Luck!" and was about to open the box when the host walked up to me and said, "Hey hey, don't open until I say so."
.
I smiled and soon I could feel all eyes on me.
Host: "So what do you hope to get?"
Me: "Erm... I hope to get the OTO Eye Rejuvenator... Hehehe... "
Host: "So now I'm going to make you open your box first and see if you get what you want."
.
I was speechless as I took the little OTO pamphlet out of the box.
Me: "Hehehe... "
Host: "You are a very very lucky girl... "
.
Well, the host looked just as surprised and the crowd on the floor all smiled at me with some actually wanting to trade their gifts with me. Of course, I politely turned them down and was smiling non-stop as I boarded the bus home with my new 'toy'.
